About
Dr. Ursula Feindor-Schmidt, LL.M., advises national and international clients on their digital strategies and business models. Her clients include leading national and international publishing houses, film productions, broadcasters, rights aggregators, consultancies and industrial companies.
Ursula particularly supports them in developing complex licensing models and implementing strategies related to the use and provision of artificial intelligence systems. Her work includes drafting terms of use, conducting legal analyses for the approval of AI tools, preparing AI guidelines, providing AI literacy training, negotiating AI cooperation agreements and AI-specific clauses, as well as advising on risk mitigation and compliance requirements under the AI Regulation. In addition, Ursula Feindor-Schmidt is regularly entrusted with high-profile test cases concerning platform liability and copyright compliance. She also handles all IP-related issues in connection with M&A transactions.
Career
Dr. Ursula Feindor-Schmidt studied law in Germany and obtained an LL.M. in Intellectual Property in the United Kingdom. She holds a PhD in intellectual property law and is a certified specialist lawyer for copyright and media law. She is a partner at LAUSEN and has been with the firm in this role since 2009.
Ursula regularly lectures and speaks at national and international conferences, including events organised by the Akademie der Deutschen Medien, the International Publishers Association, Medientage München, AIME, ALAI, Fordham IP Conference and the Rise of AI Conference.
