About
Dr. Matthias Lausen advises producers and rights holders in the music, film, and image industries. He has particular expertise in developing customized licensing models and negotiating licenses and conditions for globally operating rights holders with more than 200 platforms and streaming services worldwide. Another key focus area is the acquisition and sale of media companies and the evaluation of assets. In his advisory work, Dr. Lausen places emphasis not only on the legal aspects but also on the economic considerations.
Career
Dr. Matthias Lausen founded the law firm in 1995 with a focus on copyright and media law. From 1989 to 1991, he worked as a research assistant at the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (institute for science and politics) Munich. From 1994 to 2016, he served as Managing Director of the Institut für Urheber- und Medienrecht, Munich.
Since 2001, he has been developing and conducting expert seminars on media law in cooperation with the Akademie der Deutschen Medien. From 2003 to 2011, he lectured on media law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich. Since 2006, he has been a lecturer in the qualification programme for specialist lawyers in copyright and media law organised by the Institut für Urheber- und Medienrecht.
